Access and Outreach Officer

I am responsible for our attainment raising programme in The Oxford Academy, in addition to our Future Focus programme for students from Armed Forces Families and our targeted outreach provision. Day-to-day I work with young people by delivering events in school and co-ordinating events away from school which support students to make the most of their future.

More about me:

I enjoy working with young people and am passionate about widening participation. Throughout my own further and higher education, I gained experience working with young people in several roles, including as a mentor, dance teacher, and volunteer. In my previous role as an Outreach Officer at the University of Birmingham, I was lucky enough to work with students from Year 6 to Year 13, delivering widening participation activity. My experience across post-16 sustained programmes, summer schools, one off events, and in-school mentoring has equipped me to support students across our regions. It is important to me that all young people have access to information that helps them to make informed decisions about their future, and are supported appropriately to achieve their future goals.

Having studied history at the University of Birmingham, I have long had a particular interest in social history, culture and society. I’m originally from Hampshire, studied in Birmingham, and have recently moved to Oxford. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, trying out new dance or yoga classes, and exploring the Oxfordshire countryside (when the weather is nice!).
