Rosanna Mills
BackAccess and Outreach Officer
I am responsible for our attainment raising programme in Carterton Community College in Oxfordshire, as well as supporting young people from Armed Forces families and our targeted outreach provision.
More about me:
I recently graduated from a degree in French and Spanish (with Culture and Politics) from Oxford Brookes University, and previously trained on a foundation course at East 15 acting school. I have worked in retail, education and higher education administration – including providing support to students at the University of Oxford Careers Service and helping pupils at Cheney School, Oxford, to improve their language skills. I have always enjoyed working with young people and finding out what I can learn from them, too.
This zig-zag through work and study has helped me to understand the different paths available to young people and also what it’s like to face the unknown. From both my work and studies, I have developed a strong interest in inequalities and progression in society, including social mobility and the role of education. I am keen to support students with their individual journeys, dismantle obstacles and help them find what’s right for them.
Outside of work, I love walking in the countryside, the theatre and baking (especially brownies).
